A Mess Free Caramel Apple Fondue Everyone Can Enjoy

Anyone with children knows how messy these caramel apples can get! Here is a way to enjoy them in a way every kid and adult will enjoy without the mess that they normally bring!

Ingredients:

  • 4 royal gala apples
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ¼ cups walnut pieces

For Caramel:

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Bring brown sugar, butter, and milk to a gentle boil and cook until thickened, 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat, then add vanilla extract.
  2. Cut tops off all the apples (reserve for decoration).
  3. Using melon baller remove insides of all apple making sure you don’t get too close to the peel. Place balls into a small bowl and pour lemon juice over them and toss.
  4. Pour caramel into hollowed apples sprinkle with walnut pieces.
  5. Place a toothpick into an apple ball and dip away!

Another thing to keep in mind, and something I did for my guest, was to set out a lazy susan in the middle of the table with all sorts of toppings on it. I had everything from sprinkles to pecans and crushed up cookies. Guests were able to sprinkle their caramel apple bites with whichever topping they desired. It was a big hit for everyone!
