Amazon Is Slashing Prices for Some Whole Foods Customers

If You Have Amazon Prime, You Could Save Big…

When Amazon recently announced it was buying grocery chain Whole Foods, the move generated a lot of buzz. After all, Amazon has dominated the online marketplace for quite a while, and it's recently become obvious that the online retailer intends to make the most of this by branching out into other venues, including brick-and-mortar operations. It already has physical bookstores, and so it only seems natural for Amazon to want to gain a foothold into the grocery industry, where it can use its reputation to claim the massive amounts of money Americans spend every year on food.

And with more people opting for healthy, cruelty-free and organic food options such as those sold by Whole Foods, partnering with the grocery chain just makes good sense. Amazon hasn't wasted any time using its new venture to change the grocery industry landscape and bring in tons of new customers. In fact, it plans to lower prices on several Whole Foods items by offering discounts to Amazon Prime members, who already receive several perks through the Amazon website.
