Cut Out Custom Sugar Cookies!

My kids love baking and we wanted something quick, easy and fun to bake together.

There is nothing more fun than baking with your family and involving everyone that wants to give it a try.

We use a variety of cut out shapes to make it fun. And since they all love these cookies, I made enough for 20 servings, and they are already gone!

Try baking these Sugary cut outs for your family and let the fun begin.

I have listed the recipe below.  Let's start baking shall we?

INGREDIENTS:
  • 13 ounces butter, softened
  • 4 cups and 2 tablespoons sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1-2/3 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
  • ½ cup of confectioners' sugar (for on top of the cookies)
  • 1 tablespoon and 2 teaspoons milk
  • 1-3/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Canola oil or cooking spray for cookie sheets
  • Icing (your choice of color, I used red) Optional
  • Sprinkles (I used pink) Optional
Step-By-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  1. With your mixer, cream the butter until it becomes soft.
  1. Slowly add in the remaining ingredients one at a time.
  1. Continue mixing until smooth, soft texture.
  1. Prepare your working surface for rolling out the cookie dough
  1. Sprinkle flour onto your counter to
  1. Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness using the smallest amount of flour.
  1. Lightly grease your cookie cutters and begin having fun cutting out the cookies
  2. Place cookies flat on a lightly greased cookie sheet
  3. Bake cookies for about 10-12 minutes, or depending on the texture

  4. Remove from the oven and lightly sprinkle with confectioners' sugar, let cool for 10 minutes

  5. Time to decorate your cookies with icing and add the sprinkles.
  6. Eat and enjoy!
