- 1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
- Kosher salt and black pepper
- 1 1/2 tablespoons canola oil
- 4 slices cheese (optional)
- 4 hamburger buns, split; toasted
The Step By Step Directions To Follow:
- Divide meat into 4 equal portions Form each into 3/4-inch burger, make deep depression in center with your thumb.
- GRILL: Heat a gas grill to high or heat coals in a charcoal grill. Brush burgers with oil. Grill, 3 minutes on first side. Flip.
- GRILL PAN: Heat grill pan over high heat on top of stove. Cook burgers as for a grill
SAUTE PAN: Heat oil in pan over high heat until oil begins to shimmer. Cook on first side, 3 minutes. Flip. Cook 4 minutes.- Add cheese during the last minute, top with basting cover, close grill to melt cheese.
