Hurricane Harvey: How To Use Food to Help Those Affected

Make a Huge Difference in the Lives of Those Affected by This Devastating Storm

Hurricane Harvey, which made landfall in Texas last week as a Category 4 hurricane, cause several deaths along with massive and widespread flooding that has left thousands of people homeless. Fortunately, there's no shortage of ways to help, and plenty of businesses and organizations in the culinary world are doing what they can to make the situation a little less devastating. For example, Starbucks has contributed $250,000 towards Harvey relief, and Amazon, along with grocery chain Whole Foods, which it just bought, is matching donations up to $1 million. Plenty of restaurants are offering up their spaces to shelter people displaced by the storm, or even cooking and distributing food among evacuees.

It's not just organizations who can help, though, there are several ways you can use food to help people affected by Hurricane Harvey as well, whether you want to donate food or take a hands-on approach and offer help directly at the scene.
