Let’s Get Messy In The Kitchen With These Turkey Sloppy Joes

One bite of these sloppy Joe's and you'll never EVER eat this from a can again, we promise! You'll think it's criminal after seeing just how easy this is to make using this recipe. Enjoy!

Things You Will Need:

  • 1 T. vegetable oil

  • 1 onion, large, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

  • 1-1/2 lb. ground turkey

  • 1 tsp. salt

  • 1 tsp. chili powder

  • 2 tsp. packed light brown sugar

  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce

  • 1/4 c. water

  • 1/2 c. ketchup

  • 1/2 tsp. hot sauce

How To Prepare:

  1. Saute onion and garlic in large skillet over medium heat with vegetable oil. Turn your heat up to high and add ground turkey, cooking until no longer pink.
  2. Transfer meat mixture to your crock pot and add brown sugar, tomato sauce, ketchup water and hot sauce. You want to cook this yummy goodness on low for about 4 hours.
  3. To serve: spoon meat mixture onto buns. You can pick hamburger buns for a larger sloppy Joe, or you can make sliders using sweet Hawaiian rolls.

These sliders are perfect for super bowl fun, or any type of party that involves lots of amazing snacks … like sliders. The recipe calls for turkey but you can use whatever type of ground meat you like. My husband enjoys ground beef, so I make a batch of turkey and a batch of ground beef.
