This Classic Salisbury Steak Never Fails To Impress!

Ingredients To Gather:

  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed French onion soup
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder

Directions To Follow:

Start by combining 1/3 cup condensed French onion soup with the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt and black pepper in a large bowl. Then, shape this mixture into six oval-shaped patties. Next, brown both sides of the patties over medium-high heat in a large skillet and then pour off the excess fat. Now, combine the flour and remaining soup mix in a small bowl and blend until the mixture is smooth. Add the ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce and mustard powder, and then pour this mixture over the meat in the skillet. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes.

This is one hearty main course, and we really like this savory Salisbury steak with a generous helping of mashed potatoes and gravy and a vegetable side dish such as green beans.
