Pamela Ellis , I’m am not a novice either. Maybe they can explain how you sauté in a “baking” dish. It’s calling a baking dish for a reason. Hah! But if you do figure it out let me know. Thanks in advance!

Well I’m a cook, love to cook and I had to reread it to see how you sauté onion in the baking dish along with everything else, I thought I missed some ingredients, the only thing I can maybe say is it means put into baking dish and set baking dish on top of burners and sauté which would IMO be stupid, why not just sauté the onions (I couldn’t find any other ingredients) with the pork chops on the stove in the pan then put it all into baking dish and bake, I’m with you all, it had me stumped also. But I’ll try it, of course using my way and will probably add a few ” ingredients” lol, also just an FYI, when making gravy mixture if you use cornstarch instead of flour you get a better smoother gravy, and it doesn’t have the lumps as with flour that you get and have to whisk and whisk to get them out so not to have lumpy gravy

Is this the only site that does this, if it is, I’ll have to make a note of it, that site is so frustrating, why can’t there just be a nice and simple one that you can just click and get the recipie.

Seems to me they meant to say sauté in the same skillet then add the other ingredients to make the sauce in with the onions. Instead of a baking dish I would use an oven safe skillet, like cast iron. It would taste a lot better and less clean up Agree they should proofread their posts to make sure the directions are clear for all cooks

The pork chop looks like it was grilled not baked in a milk mixture! Somebody better try explaining recipe again. I’ve been cooking for 60 years an I don’t understand it!

I cook every day for the past 60 years and the recipe and the picture are 100% different. I know what they mean but people follow recipes to learn and they should be written so that a 12 year old could understand how to prepare the dish without any trouble and without the recipe being spread out to a dozen pages! Nobody had the time or patience for that!
