This is the Easiest Way to Make Ladyfinger Cookies

This Centuries-Old Dessert is Ideal Even for Novice Cooks

Ladyfinger cookies reportedly date all the way back to Amadeus VI, Duke of Savoy and are also known by their Italian name, Savoiardi. They're pretty simple to make, and they're also delicate and sophisticated enough to serve at tea parties or other elegant gatherings. They did have noble beginnings, after all! Despite the fact that they have a bit of a fancy, gourmet reputation, we often recommend them for novice bakers because they're so simple and easy to make. However, we recently discovered a method that simplifies the process even more!

This process uses just one bowl, which we love because then there's less to clean up after we're done! It also makes the process easier and more streamlined and efficient. These slender little finger-shaped cookies (hence their nickname) taste great all on their own but you can also combine two to make a sandwich cookie. Yum! You can also use molds to make them or just do it free-form, which is our preferred method and what we've done here.
