If someone could design the perfect dessert for me, it would include the words: Chocolate, peanut butter and truffle. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon this recipe for a Peanut Butter Truffle Chocolate Cake. It almost seems too good to be true. My love of peanut butter + chocolate goes way back.
As a kid, I would often get into the chocolate chips, pour them straight into a jar of peanut butter and then eat it with a spoon. The next time my mom would decide to make her amazing chocolate chip cookies, she would have to rush to the store after discovering a half-eaten bag of chocolate chips in the pantry.
It was apparent that I needed to have my own jar of peanut butter all to myself.
As an adult, that has not changed. Here and there, I find myself with a spoon and a jar of peanut butter getting in touch with my inner child again.
This cake is the mature, sophisticated, 5-star version of my former childhood PB+Chocolate passion.
