What’s wrong with sugar in moderation providing you’re not diabetic Wendy? It’s in the recipe because it tastes good

    Let’s Get Started…

    The Ingredients To Gather:

    8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
    3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
    1 tablespoon honey
    1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
    1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
    1/4 teaspoon dried basil
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves

You can either make this entire dish in the oven or you can throw it in the skillet. There are a few ways you can make it – either way it will turn out delicious.

Before you get started throwing everything together there are some special instructions to follow. Since you will be making a Brown Sugar & Garlic sauce that goes on top you have to make sure that it does not burn your chicken.

We recommend that you actually cook The Garlic & Brown Sugar Chicken in the oven. You should be using a 9×13 casserole dish for this.

    The Instructions To Follow

Begin by preheating your oven oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper, to taste.
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large oven-proof skillet over medium high heat. Add chicken, skin-side down, and sear both sides until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side; set aside.
Melt remaining tablespoon butter in the skillet. Add garlic, and cook, stirring frequently, until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat.
Stir in brown sugar, honey, oregano, thyme and basil until well combined. Return chicken to the skillet.
Place into oven and roast until completely cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 175 degrees F, about 25-30 minutes.
    Finished!

We like this recipe because it requires just 10 minutes of prep time and yields 8 servings. That makes it the perfect dish for when you have a big crowd of hungry mouths to feed but not a lot of time. In fact, this recipe is so easy we think we’ll be making this chicken often!

Jeff Gant, Splenda is a REALLY unhealthy thing, as is any artificial sweetener. If you MUST sweeten your food, use an herbal sweetener such as Stevia.

Sugar has numerous detrimental effects on your body. The less you eat the better. My point is simply that there are a lot of ways to make food taste great without adding such unhealthy ingredients.

How about transferring to crockpot after browning. Make the sauce as directed and drizzle over chicken pieces. Cook for until done – generally 2 hours on high or 4 on low.
