A Comforting Classic: This Chicken & Gravy Crock Pot Recipe Is Absolutely Delicious!

Like I said, this isn't one of those meals that requires you to make everything from scratch. This is for those days when you know you'll be much too busy to spend two hours preparing a meal. Here's everything you need to get started:

The Ingredients To Gather:

  • 2 (0.87 oz.) packets dry chicken gravy mix
  • 1 (10.75 oz.) can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • garlic powder, salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional)
  • rice, mashed potatoes or noodles to serve over

The Step By Step Directions:

  1. Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, black pepper and just a tad bit of salt on both sides. Note: the chicken gravy and cream of chicken soup already have salt in them so don't go overboard on seasoning with salt (about a teaspoon should work).
  2. In your slow cooker, whisk together the gravy packets, cream of chicken soup, and water.
  3. Whisk until it is mostly smooth.
  4. Add the seasoned chicken breasts.
  5. Be sure to get them covered in gravy.
  6. Cover and cook on low for about 6-8 hours.
  7. Once cooked, break chicken up into chunks using a fork.
  8. Stir in sour cream.

Finished!

You don't absolutely need the sour cream, but it adds that creamy touch to an already filling meal. Pick out some side veggies, cook up some rice, and you're ready to eat!

You can also serve this over some noodles if you want.
