We've all heard tales of rats, mice, cockroaches and other pests being spotted at restaurants, sometimes just running across the floor but other times found right in the cooked food. However, a recent incident at a Chinese restaurant in England has got to be one of the most outrageous cases we've ever heard of. It's also stirring up plenty of controversy, thanks to one customer's negative online reviews because of the event. See, this was no ordinary rat sighting…this rat actually fell through the ceiling while customers were dining!
While there were several witnesses to the unappetizing incident, the most engaging account comes from Louissa Downham, who was there with her boyfriend. She's spoken to the press about the incident, and also posted about it on online review sites. However, the restaurant, which is called Water Palace and located in Kent, wasn't about to take that sitting down.
No, instead they posted several rebuttals to Downham's reviews and accused her of exaggerating and being overly dramatic just to get attention. They also accused her of harming the business.
