A Mathematician Just Introduced A Scientific Method For Cutting Bagels Precisely & We Just Had to Try It!

We're Mesmerized…

We're always looking for ways to up our game in the kitchen, and we just love tips and tricks that help us get the most out of every dish. That's why were intrigued when we came across a YouTube video from Professor George W. Hart of Stony Brook University. In his video, he explains the mathematically correct way to cut a bagel, a method that produces two halves linked together and also supposedly offers more surface area for cream cheese or whatever topping is preferred.

The only way a bagel with cream cheese can be any better is if there's a way to get even more cream cheese on it, so we knew right away that we just had to try this clever little strategy for ourselves. One caveat: this method takes a bit more time than simply cutting a bagel in half and popping it in the toaster. It's not for those mornings when it's necessary to eat quickly, and it's only for people who are serious about their bagels!
