Many of us think we know what kind of meat we are buying when we go to the store. However, what we found out may horrify you!
The Shocking Truth About The Meat Industry Is:
According to Pamela Geller, a conservative activist and expert on Islam, much of the meat purchased in grocery stores by everyday Americans happens to be halal.
“A great deal of meat sold in this country is halal but is not labeled as such.”
Halal refers to an Islamic form of animal slaughtering that involves killing the beast by cutting its jugular vein, carotid artery and windpipe.
“Religious people should have the freedom to have meat and poultry products produced in a way that meets their needs.”
In 2012, Geller’s organization, the American Freedom Defense Initiative, filed a petition with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, asking that a regulation be implemented requiring that halal meat be labeled.
It has been four years since the petition and American meat has still not received a halal label.

Buy your meat from a cattle rancher!
Doesn’t matter to me … at times I’ve done it hunting wild game to finish off the kill .. I have never eaten a meal and sat wondering .. how was this meal killed in preparation for me to consume …
I’m not Muslim nor Jewish but I do understand the requirements of a food or meat being labeled halal or kosher. In order to be halal requires more than just how the animal is killed, so no the meat that we buy in the grocery store is not halal. Even if it were why would it be “disturbing, gross & downright insulting”?
Stuff like this are why everyone loves social media
Since when did Recipe Station become so leftist? I want frickin’ recipes. Not this$#%&!@*!!
Of course a Muslim wrote the article
I always thought there were prayers and blessings said over the animals that were to be used for meat. Of course the Halal prayers and the Kosher prayers are different and NOT interchangeable. Correct me if I am wrong.
