Here's everything you need to prepare this lip-smacking soup that will have everyone demanding seconds.
Ingredients to Gather:
- 1 30oz. bag of frozen diced hash browns
- 1 32 oz box of chicken broth
- 1 can of cream of chicken soup (10 oz)
- 1 pkg. cream cheese (8 oz, not fat free)
- 3 oz bacon bits
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions to Follow:
Add the hash browns first, followed by the broth and the cream of chicken soup. Next, add half of the bacon bits and a little bit of salt and pepper. (The rest of the bacon bits come in later.) The next part is simple: just cook on low until the hash browns are tender. This usually takes between 7 and 8 hours. About an hour before you plan to serve the soup, cut the cream cheese into small cubes and then add to the soup. For a finishing touch, top with cheddar cheese and the rest of the bacon bits.
What we like about this recipe is that it's jam-packed with taste and with so many ingredients, it's an easy way to prepare an entire meal. In fact, this soup is so satisfying you likely won't need anything to go along with it — but it also works well with hot buttered cornbread. It's guaranteed to take the chill off even on the coldest winter day!
