I Would Have Never Of Thought To Add This To My Pasta Sauce… But I am sure Glad I Did ~ Damn What A Difference!
Can You Believe How Easy This Pasta Sauce Was To Make. And All Of The Ingredients Were Super Fresh!
I admit, I usually purchase a jar of pasta sauce whenever I am making something that calls for pasta sauce. And usually, I try and doctor it up to hide the taste that's always lingering in a preservative packed jar. I can't quite explain that flavor, but somehow everyone can always identify when it's store bought. Then I cam across this recipe and I was blown away by how easy pasta sauce can be to make, with the right ingredients. After making this sauce, you seriously will never want to buy sauce in a jar again. Half the time is spent trying to hide that fact anyways. Instead, redirect your efforts from the very beginning and be delighted with your finished product.
There is nothing crazy that you need to know to execute this recipe. The skills needed a pretty basic. So what are you waiting you?! Who knows, you might even be inspired to start making pasta from scratch. But hey, one step at a time right?

Some say cinnamon is the secret ingredient. NOT for me! It ruins the sauce for me!
Wine sweetens the sauce. Slow cooking gets rid of acidity.

Yes, I learned about the cinnamon from a true Italian. Wonderful sauce…..or gravy as some call it 🙂

Fry anchovies with the garlic to start the sauce. It takes the place of salt and you never taste the anchovies.

The only secret ingredient here is a lot of ads – no thanks!

I put one cube of the Semi-sweet baking choc. into my chili. and just let it melt and blend in.
I keep some bread by the pot so I can test it. After all someone has to. In fact I have a pot of Sauce/gravy on the stove right now.
The only extra ingredient I noticed was the chicken bouillon granules. I was wondering why it wasn’t beef bouillion. I’ve never added bouillon to my spaghetti sauce. A splash or two of wine is always good. 😉
Clicking on this type of post is usually just a pain. I prefer to just click on the comments. That usually tells me if it is worth the time but I also learn so much from other suggestions. Thanks y’all ! 🙂
I’m thrilled to know I’ve been doing so many things wrong all these years.
Nothing new here…but here’s my tip…if you add ground beef mix in 1 tube of Jimmy Dean sausage mix it in with ground beef..makes the best lasagna…and I’m Sicilian
I don’t think so!

There isn’t an Italian on the planet that puts bouillon in sauce. We use meat…. real meat!

We do that at our house too- partial to the Jimmy Dean Sage sausage
They are great in sausages.
I use hamburg and hot sausage in mine. So delicious.
The cinnamon has been my secret. Yummy.
Everyone has their own type recipe . Don’t say you were doing everything wrong.
I was using sarcasm, Brenda. I was making fun of these types of articles that say “you’ve been doing this wrong for years”. Yes, you’re right. Everyone has their own way of doing things and nobody’s is right or wrong.
I feel the same way….these posts are a bunch of b.s. They have no intention of honoring you with a recipe or the secret ingredients. That’s what Kevin Trudeau used to do with his book of health secrets
All I know is…people say to have gas pills before you eat…jejeje
My secret ingredient is chili powder—makes it arrabiata !
I used to put cocoa in my pumpernickel rye till I found out someone at my church is allergic to chocolate. He has to ask at restaurants to make sure there is no chocolate or cocoa in the chili or other dishes.
