3. Filling pot with hot water

Bringing cold water to  full boil ensures that impurities in tap water don’t wind up in pasta.

4. Adding olive oil

If you’re cooking in  properly sized pot, there’s no reason noodles should be sticking.

5. Following package instructions

Taste test  piece of pasta to make sure it’s  al dente.

6. Rinsing 

You might save a calorie or two by removing the starch, sauce will coat  pasta way better if you keep it.

7.  Too much cheese
