You are going to love the tangy flavor of this sauce because the Dr. Pepper makes it thick and rich. The only difference between this sauce and a regular BBQ Sauce is the addition of soda!
Let's Get Started…
Your Ingredients To Gather:
- 12 oz Dr. Pepper
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- ½ teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon granulated garlic
Directions To Follow:
-
Add all ingredients to a large sauce pan and whisk to combine.
-
Place over medium-high heat and cook, stirring often until mixture just starts to bubble.
-
Lower to simmer and cook 5 minutes or until sugar is dissolved.
-
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Finished!
I love good BBQ but I have to admit that the sauce makes the meal. This combination is a perfect mixture of sweet and tangy. The glaze really goes over thick and it's pretty good.
For the sauce I always add a little more liquid smoke so its a tad more spicier but that is up to your discretion.
This may sound like a weird concoction but it definitely makes up in taste.
Enjoy!
