
I am always looking for simple recipes that call for fresh, flavorful ingredients, which is why one of my favorite types of food to prepare is Greek.
A Mediterranean diet consists of lean meats like chicken, fish or lamb, prepared with my favorite ingredients olive oil, lemon, garlic, fresh herbs like dill, mint and of course Greek yogurt!
I put Greek yogurt in everything! If a recipe calls for sour cream or mayonnaise I replace it with this wonderful tart yogurt that has half the fat of those others with no added sugar. Or if I am just looking to add some creaminess to a chicken marinade or a dressing, Greek yogurt it is.
For a weeknight meal you cannot go wrong by going Greek. There’s no deep frying or long prep work, and you most likely have most of the ingredients already in your kitchen. The result of cooking Greek is fresh tasting food that has that great flavor that comes from ingredients you can pronounce.
