Five Weird True & Freaky Facts About Banana’s That Will Make Your Jaw Drop!

By this time you may be thinking, what's so cool about bananas. Or you're eager to figure out what this article is all about. I can say that I was personally shocked when I learned that this fruit that I've been around my whole life, can harm human, and anger bees; among many other things. Here's how.

Bananas make bees mad: When threatened, one of the messages bee's send with pheromones is “ATTACK!” That pheromone Isopentyl acetate is in bananas.

Pretty fast for a fruit:  Running dressed as a banana is enough of a thing that Guinness World Records keeps track of the times these fitness fruits take to finish.

Good for your smile: Get a slightly-green banana, and peel off the skin. The skin is loaded with potassium, rub it all over your teeth for a couple of minutes before you brush them.

They all look the same, because they are all the same: When a grower wants a new plant, he has to cut a piece from another plant and grow it separately. Those two plants, and their fruit, will be genetically identical.

They had a disease: Clones are pretty cool, and they make for good science fiction, but in the case of bananas there's a serious downside. Before the Cavendish became the numero uno banana on the high street, the big yellow bendy banana boss was called Gros Michel. Unfortunately, a fungus called Panama disease came along and took a liking to Gross Michel, and since the Gross Michel were also a bunch of clones, when Panama disease liked one banana, it liked them all. As a result, the Gross Michel was wiped out in the 1950s and the Cavendish took its place. But since the Cavendish are also clones, they're just as susceptible to disease as the Gross Michel was, and that could mean the end of banana slip jokes, once and for all.

Cool Right?

Surprising right? Now that you know this information I'm sure you'll look at bananas in a totally different light. Bananas are more than just a delicious and healthy fruit, and not that you know this is true you can share it with as many as your friends as possible.
