
Now that the little ones are back in school and I am off to work more often cooking dinner has become more of a luxury than anything. That is why this Crock-Pot recipe is perfect!
The Ingredients To Gather
- 6 Chicken breasts
- 1 Cup yellow onion
- 32 Ounces tomato sauce
- 2 Teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 Teaspoons dried thyme
- 2 Teaspoons garlic
- 6 Ounces sliced mushrooms
- 1/4 Cup dry red wine
- 1 Cup green pepper
The Step By Step Directions To Follow
- Coat bottom of a skillet with olive oil, heat on stove top set to medium heat and brown chicken.
- Add chicken to the Crock-Pot.
- Combine ingredients with chicken.
- Cover; cook on Low for 5 to 7 hours or on High for 2 to 3 hours.
Finished!
What I found added a bit more flavor was to brown the chicken with some olive oil in a sauce pan for just a few minutes before throwing it into the Crock-Pot. However, this step is optional and completely up to you.
