Have A Leftover Tomato? Instead Of Putting It In A Zip Lock Bag Try This Instead; They’ll Last Longer

Do You Have Half Of A Tomato Left Over? Keep It Fresh By Using This Age-Old Hack!

When many of us cut up tomatoes for a salad or for tacos or even for a spaghetti sauce, we sometimes have half of the tomato left.

Since we usually want to use the rest of the tomato for another meal, we put it in a plastic bag and stick it in the fridge because that is the cheapest, quickest way to do it.

However, why is it that the tomato goes bad really fast? The simple answer is, you have probably be storing it the wrong way all this time!

There is a much better way to store left over tomato halves and it is so easy you'll wonder why you never thought of it before!

Save those plastic baggies and don't even think about throwing your delicious, red tomatoes away just because they tend to decompose a little bit quicker; once you see this, you'll want to try it.

To Find Out The Amazing Trick For Keeping Your Stored Tomato Halves Delicious, Please Head On Over To The Next Page Where We Will Tell You Exactly What You Need To Do…

I use them in stews or beans. My mom would freeze them (we raised lots of tomatoes) in bags and use for stew in the winter.

I sprinkle with salt and pepper, a tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese; bake in a 350 oven for 20 minutes. Oh yes, delicious.

“The best way to store your remaining tomato halves is cut-side down on a paper towel. Stick paper towel in the bottom of a storage container, place open face of tomato on paper towel, stick closed container in fridge. If you use it within two days, it will taste good as new. If you can’t use it over the next couple days, stick it in the freezer until you need it.”

NEVER put a tomato in the fridge!!!!!!

Once chilled, favor enzymes “turn off” and you lose the fresh tomato taste. This is why store bought tomatoes never taste as good as garden/market ones, because they were shipped refrigerated.

I have cored tomatoes and frozen them whole to use in soups at a later time. Just run warm water over the frozen tomato and peel the skins off add the tomato into the soup.

if you store the cut tomato on a paper towel won`t the juices of the tomato be drawn out of the tomato and into the paper towel?

We NEVER put our tomatoes in the fridge, cut up or not! But then again, I grew up with Jersey tomatoes, & they got devoured pretty quick! Putting them in the fridge ruins the flavor.
