Traditional Southern-Brined Pork Chop Made With Sweet Tea

For the black tea you can cut them open to have little specks of the herbs on the pork chops. It does not matter what brand that you use.

Let's Get Started…

Ingredients To Gather

  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp molasses
  • 1 bay leaf
  • pinch of black pepper
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 1.5 lbs boneless pork chops

Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. In a saucepan, combine the water, sugar, salt, molasses, bay leaf, black pepper and black tea bags. Bring the mixture to a boil, then place the pot in an ice bath to cool. Once the mixture is cooled, add the pork chops, and stick it in the fridge for 4 hours.
  2. Then dry the pork chops VERY well with a paper towel and discard the brine.
  3. Heat up a grill to medium high heat approximately 155 degrees and grill for about 4 minutes on each side.

Finished!

Now that wasn't too bad…just make sure to start the prep work early so you're ready to grill at the time you plan for. Your friends and family are going to love these new pork chops.

Happy Cooking & Enjoy!
