How To Grill Beer Can Chicken Like A Pro Every Single Time (Without Burning It To A Crisp)

4 Position bird
Bring it down over  can, slide  can inside cavity. The can should be in deep enough that the chicken's legs touch down on either side.   Tuck wings back,  secure in place with skewers.

5 Grill 
Set up your grill for indirect heat,  300-350 degrees Fahrenheit.  For  gas grill,  turn off half the burners, for charcoal grill, pile  coals up on a single side. Place  bird  on cooler section of grill. Widen chicken's stance so that its legs form a tripod, shut  lid, let it be for 75-90 minutes, checking on it every 10 minutes  during  last 30 to make sure,  heat stays at medium-high.

6 Bring her on home
Once your bird reaches an internal temperature of 165 F  and 185 F ,  take her off  fire. Turn off  grill, grab some tongs , grip  base of  can, lifting  whole thing  off  grill.  Slide  tongs under  chicken's wings, — holding  base of  can,  wiggle  bird up and off.

Allow your chicken to sit about fifteen minutes before you enjoy.
