How To Make A Chocolate Mug Cake In Ten Minutes From Your Microwave… That Actually Tastes Good!

This easy mug cake recipe makes two servings but you can easily double the recipe if you want to make some for the kids to enjoy too. It only takes about ten minutes to prepare and cook. It may appear gooey and have melted chocolate on the top when you take it out of the microwave but don't worry, it is ready to eat and enjoy.

Ingredients To Gather:

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 oz bittersweet chocolate, two 1/2 oz pieces chocolate
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1.25 oz flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • vanilla ice cream

Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. Select two mugs that hold at least 11oz of liquid.
  2. Microwave the butter and chocolate in a bowl for about 1 minute, stirring halfway through, until fully melted.
  3. Whisk the sugar, eggs, cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt in a bowl, then whisk into the melted butter and chocolate. Whisk in the flour and baking powder, divide the batter between the two mugs.
  4. Put the mugs on opposite sides of the microwave turntable, and microwave for 45 seconds. Stir the batter well with a spoon, then microwave for another 45 seconds. Press the two chocolate squares down into each cake.
  5. Microwave for an additional 35 seconds . At this point the cakes should be done. The cake may be a little gooey on top, but you can check that the interior of the cake should be around 200 degrees F. Let the cakes sit for 2 minutes while the heat continues to cook the cakes slightly.
