The Ingredients To Gather: 

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil,
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 medium zucchini
  • 1 clove garlic,
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Pinch red pepper flakes
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. Grate the vegetables. Heat oil. Add the onion and zucchini and cook, stirring occasionally, for three to four minutes.
  2. Add the garlic, oregano, and red pepper flakes, stir to combine, and cook another two minutes.
  3. Add the tomatoes and sugar, reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat, stir in the basil, black pepper, and remaining teaspoon of oil.

    I like real spaghetti sauce the old fashion way , this stuff like zucchini this is for vegan that make the sauce for a vegan , the world today is veg world and don’t forget your going to live long , in a few years quess what.     Thank you!!!! I have never ever ever added …..nor carrots or anything that would make it sweet! My Gravy simmers 7-8 hours…between the meat it starts with and the length of time it cooks…it breaks down the acidity just fine 🙂

    Agreed…..I’ll cut calorie corners elsewhere….Life is too short…everything in moderation.. but if we are having Spaghetti and meatballs….Its going to be the real deal….no wheat pasta….gluten free….no ground turkey ….just the real deal lol
