Here's everything you need for this indulgent vanilla buttercream frosting. This recipe takes 10 minutes and makes enough frosting for one 13×9-inch cake or to fill and frost an 8- or 9-inch two-layer cake.
Let's Get Started..
Ingredients To Gather:
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 to 2 tablespoons milk
Directions To Follow:
Start by mixing the powdered sugar and the butter or margarine in a medium-sized bowl using either a spoon or an electric mixer set on the low speed. Add the vanilla and 1 tbsp. of the milk, and then slowly beat in just enough of what's left of the milk so that the frosting has a smooth texture and is easy to spread. If the frosting is too thin, you can add a little bit of powdered sugar to thicken it up.
Finished!
This vanilla buttercream frosting certainly sounds decadent, and is definitely the solution if you have an insatiable sweet tooth. Have you made this? How did it turn out?
