Millennials Are Devoting A Shocking Amount Of Their Income To Eating Out…Seriously, How Can Anyone Afford This?!

That certainly sounds like a large amount, but just how significant is it? Well, turns out Millennials dedicate 44 percent of their food spending to eating out at restaurants and ordering in.

That percentage is up significantly: In 2010, it was at 33 percent, Forbes reports. So what are they spending that money on? Often it’s healthy (or at least what’s perceived to be healthy) food, Business Insider notes, frequenting fast-casual restaurants that offer ingredients less processed than, say, the options at McDonald’s. Ordering in is also a large chunk of that. The total comes to nearly $3,000 a year

Wow!

The younger generation certainly spends more of their money eating out than we ever did! Of course, with life getting increasingly hectic and busy, apparently there's just not much time for spending hours in the kitchen to prepare a home-cooked meal.

Enjoy!
