Oh No! Have A Half Of A Leftover Tomato? Instead Of Tossing It In A Plastic Baggie Try This Instead

Do You Have A Leftover Tomato?

Let me say this first, it is super easy to forget ingredients, even after you've prepped them. That is why we're always forgetting to add our tomatoes.

Last week, when I was making my fajitas, I diced up one half of a tomato and was going to reach for the other half but got distracted. If you have kids then you know the trouble of always stopping what you're doing and attending to them.

Normally, what I would have done to that other half of the tomato is just toss it in a Zip Lock Baggie and call it a day. However, after a few days, the tomato will start to go bad (in the baggie) and you've wasted food, space and storage – see how that works?

This hack though taught me something really neat and when I tried it I actually was able to keep my halved tomatoes, peppers, melons, etc for up to two weeks and they were just as fresh as when I first cut into them.

Yeah, yeah… you probably think I am nuts over here but, seriously: ditch the plastic baggies and try this. You will be able to keep your produce longer, save on space and keep more of those plastic Zip Locks for actual snacks.
