One Of The Most Famous Desserts To Come Out Of Italy, This Creamy No-Bake Cake Never Fails Us

A good thing to know right off the bat is that after the tiramisu is made, it needs to sit in the refrigerator over night because it’s a no bake tiramisu. This allows the magic to happen to give it that classic, rich tiramisu flavor you’re going to want.

Let's Get Started…

Ingredients To Gather

  • 6 egg yolks

  • 3/4 cup white sugar

  • 2/3 cup milk

  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 pound mascarpone cheese

  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee or espresso, room temperature

  • 1/4 cup amaretto, brandy, or rum

  • 6 ounces of ladyfinger cookies

  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

Step By Step Directions To Follow

Custard:

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together egg yolks and sugar.

  2. Whisk in milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and boil for a minute.

  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

  4. Press cling wrap onto surface of custard and chill for 1 hour.

Cream:

  1. With an electric mixer, slowly beat cream with vanilla until stiff peaks form

  2. Get custard out from refrigerator and whisk mascarpone into yolk mixture by hand until smooth.

Ladyfingers:

  1. In a measuring cup, combine coffee and rum.

  2. Spread ladyfingers on a sheet or in a bowl and slowly pour coffee mixture over the cookies.

Assemble

  1. Arrange half of soaked ladyfingers in bottom of a 7×11 inch dish.

  2. Spread half of mascarpone mixture over ladyfingers, then half of whipped cream over that. Repeat and sprinkle with cocoa.

  3. Cover and refrigerate at least 24 hours to let the flavors blend into that classic tiramisu taste you know and crave.

Finished!

Once it's ready and you get to dig in, you're are going to love what you taste. All that waiting would have definitely been worth once you try it. It's like biting into a piece of heaven with its cold, creamy, and rich flavor. So, enjoy with someone or even eat it on a date. You won't be disappointed.

Happy Baking & Enjoy!
