A long time ago, it was considered a good idea to drink milk. Then milk alternatives were the cool thing to drink. However, how each milk stacks up against each other may completely surprise you!

The Results Of How Each Milk Compares Are: 

Dairy UK said celebrities endorsing vegan diets and claims cattle are bad for the environment are helping to sway young people to switch to alternatives.

We spoke to Professor Sam Lingham, a consultant in paediatrics and adolescent medicine from the Medical Express clinic on Harley Street, London – where he specialises in food intolerances.

He broke down what is in each product and explains the health benefits of the different varieties.

Semi-skimmed milk

Ingredients: Milk

Fat: 1.6g

Sugar: 4.8g

Protein: 3.1g

Benefits: “If you don’t have any intolerances nothing can beat milk for the calcium, protein and vitamin B levels.

A2 Semi-skimmed

Ingredients: milk

Fat: 1.8g

Sugar: 4.9g

Protein: 3.6g

Benefits: “A2 milk is made from cows specially selected because they produce milk that contains this protein, rather than the A1.  ” Same nutritional values as normal milk.”

Lactofree semi-skimmed

Ingredients: Semi-skimmed milk lactase enzyme

Fat: 1.5g

Sugar: 3g

Protein: 3.6g

Benefits: “Offers the same positives as milk but the lactose  is broken down by an added enzyme.

Alpro Soya Original

Ingredients: Water, Hulled Soya Beans ( Sugar, Acidity Regulators (Monopotassium Phosphate, Dipotassium Phosphate), Calcium (Calcium Carbonate), Flavouring, Sea Salt, Stabiliser  Vitamins (Riboflavin (B2), B12, D2)

    I personally don’t care for all those fake milks out there. I drink whole cows milk and I love it.
