These Facts About The Food In America's Prisons Are Downright Shocking! We Couldn't Believe What They're Forcing Prisoners To Eat!

There are some real horror stories out there about prisons, both here in the United States and around the world. However, American prisons are held to certain standards and required to furnish inmates with basic needs such as adequate nutrition.

In the past few years, there have been several scandals involving how prisoners are fed. Plus, some of the companies outsourced to feed inmates have been found in violation of several major laws.

In fact, upon closer inspection prison food leaves much to be desired and many might argue that the state of the food fed to inmates violates basic civil rights.

Plus, prisoners who misbehave are even punished by being fed food known to be extremely unappetizing. Those are just a few of the tidbits that website Spoon University uncovered when investigating the condition of prison food across America. Trust us, the story gets even worse!

WoW -I worked in a level 3/4/5 prison for inmate males. It was in the Upper Straights of Michigan : The prisoners ate better than most folks on the outside that’s a fact. The warden even fed them KFC for CHRISTmas. That’s our fine tax dollars paying for that special dinner. I believe personally they should eat decent because if not it raises health issues…which causes the tax payers even more ( right now in Michigan it cost $53,000 or more per inmate a year to be housed ). Therefore, KFC should have gone to the officers instead who risk their life’s!

Our military eats cold meals sleep on cold grounds etc. U get 3 square meals hot coffee. If you’re lucky to have family to put money in ur acct you can get just about anything in the commissary. Inmates get about whatever the hell they want!! They grief how they get treated, grief for food, grief clothes etc. For the ones that have killed ppl or innocence babies n children they didn’t have a chance to grief for their life’s how about that!! If you don’t like the living situation, food, and treatment stay out of the big house!!! No one invited you there!! You made the choice!! For the innocent ones i feel for you to be put thru the$#%&!@* Maybe all states need to be done like Arizona prison!! One channel the weather channel so you know how hot it’s going to be n wear pink!! Life is hard but you just choose to live it harder!!

i can tell you from experience in new york you only get a coffee cup of cereal for breakfast, lunch is more$#%&!@*and for dinner you get just three fucking raviolies and a spoon of beens. now if you fed your kids like that you would be in prison for child abuse. so yeah in new york our prisoners are eating way to good. do you know in new york they pay 2.10 for all three meals. can you feed your family on that? and new york is trying to get that$#%&!@*in all the schools, nursing homes, hospitals and jails. lets see how your retarded kids learn on a prison diet or how will your elderly live on that diet. lets see how well you heal on that diet in the hospital. then tell me they eat so fucking well. if you have never been in prison shut the$#%&!@*up you have no idea what your talking about. not mandy.

This is insane. While some prisons may have issues with serving iffy food, a good majority of the prisons serve good food. Often times their food is better than what our military men and women receive in their chow halls. If prisoners don’t like the food they are served they are able to buy from the commissary. The article states that they have to do so on a prison wage budget, but there are a good portion of them who are receiving outside money for their “needs”. Obviously what they are being fed, or how they are being treated, isn’t that bad because the US has an almost 77% recidivism rate. They need to just man up… all of them.

People can be so cruel. A lot of people are in prison for petty$#%&!@*and there is a lot in prison that are completely innocent. Over some little$#%&!@*yelling rape. Then a innocent man goes to prison over just her word no evidence, no DNA proof no nothing just because she said so because she didn’t get her way. So the man pays the price over something he did not do. Yes there are a lot in there that deserve it they are where they belong. But there are also a lot in there that don’t belong in there period.

what about the ones that are there and didn’t commit a crime? I know you prison guards will say anything to make yourselves look so fucking great. you idiot guards want the public to think they are safe. cool keep them idiots thinking that. i know the$#%&!@*guards in new york prisons sleep at night with their radios and keys on the desk where inmates can take them and hold them hostage, but yet they claim it’s a highly stressful job if that’s the case why are you sleeping and not doing your jobs. all you correction officers and retards that have never been to prison think your so fucking perfect, well i have news for you your not so$#%&!@*you and$#%&!@*off. i bet your one of them$#%&!@*cos that have beat the$#%&!@*out of inmates to right$#%&!@* come to new york and see how things are.

The article talked about a crooked company making a giant profit by halfassing products. Fined a insignificant amount and continue to practice unchecked…but you can tell who read the article and who just has a knee-jerk reaction to one sentence. Massive corruption right in front of your face and you focus on the first sentence? If the shoe fits you’re a bigger problem to America than lawbreakers.
