Prison Food: What They Are Force Feeding Inmates Is Downright Degrading & Cruel, Unusual Punishment

These Facts About The Food In America's Prisons Are Downright Shocking! We Couldn't Believe What They're Forcing Prisoners To Eat!

There are some real horror stories out there about prisons, both here in the United States and around the world. However, American prisons are held to certain standards and required to furnish inmates with basic needs such as adequate nutrition.

In the past few years, there have been several scandals involving how prisoners are fed. Plus, some of the companies outsourced to feed inmates have been found in violation of several major laws.

In fact, upon closer inspection prison food leaves much to be desired and many might argue that the state of the food fed to inmates violates basic civil rights.

Plus, prisoners who misbehave are even punished by being fed food known to be extremely unappetizing. Those are just a few of the tidbits that website Spoon University uncovered when investigating the condition of prison food across America. Trust us, the story gets even worse!

They have nutritionists that dictate the menu.

The food is good enough to keep an inmate alive.

    That is all they deserve.

Etalokohc Snoisserpxe A question for you….if someone murdered your child and they complained about the food he/she was being fed in prison….would you really care??? I know ONE prisoner that has fed ME grief, sadness and emptiness for the rest of my life….you rehabilitate someone who has empathy and you do it before they take a life because once they commit a MURDER…there is no rehabilitating……beans, rice and a fresh salad is humane…and nutritious….they don’t get to choose, steak, lobster or pork chops just as the parent of a murdered child can’t enjoy life with a full heart anymore…neither do they deserve to have a steak dinner…you talk about being bitter…then they need to stay even longer and consequences….what about the victim’s consequences??? Yeah…that subject is for another day and a written book!!!

Like I said before, these are the same people u expect to become rehabilitated amd get a job so they don’t reoffend. Alsi, I’m the wife of an Innocence Project client. He goes to court on Friday and soon to be released after being held 19yrs for a murder he didn’t commit and the state has BEEN known it. He isn’t the only one either! At the prison he is at 7 ppl have already been released based on their true innocence. So when this flawed system starts properly investigating crimes, arrest the right perpatrators and stop locking innocent people up instead of going for the quick arrest I’ll stop caring what is fed to them.

Everyone in jail/prison aren’t murderers either. So u need to come with a better argument than your personal loss. Right now we are dealing with a victim’s family who had to have their hearts ripped back open because they’re just now finding out that my husband didn’t murder their family member. It’s heartbreaking to witness but had the law done their job properly an innocent boy (he was tried as an adult) wouldn’t have been arrested.

I understand that they did something wrong and if they act up in prison being put in the shue is bad enough. Prison outsourcing is just a way for a company to make money. They are human being and should be treated and feed as one.

Not all ppl arrested are guilty. There are waaaaay more falsely accused than what’s being reported. Most are in jail for low level crimes that don’t have personal victims. There are also monies distributed to buy certain items and substandard foods are bought so they can cook books and pocket the remainder. THIS I KNOW FOR A FACT!

If prisoners are unhappy with their food, perhaps they should not commit ta crime that puts them in prison to begin with.I am more concerned about the garbage being fed to our children in the schools or the ones that are homeless and not getting a meal everyday. As far as I am concerned, the prisoners should be living in a tent city and eating beans and rice.
