Slow Cooked Chicken With Garlic Makes The Perfect Meal Every Single Time!

Slow Cooked Chicken With Garlic Makes The Perfect Meal Every Single Time!

Here's everything you need for this savory garlic chicken. To make things even easier, you can substitute Italian seasoning for the thyme, basil and oregano.

Ingredients To Gather:

  • 1 large onion, halved, cut into thin slices
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cut-up whole chicken (3 1/2 to 4 lb)

Directions To Follow:

Use a 5- or 6-quart slow cooker. Start by spraying it with cooking spray, and then adding the garlic and onion. Next, combine the thyme, basil, oregano, salt and pepper in a small bowl and use it to coat each chicken piece. Place the chicken pieces on top of the onion in a single layer. Next, cover and cook for three and a half hours. (You can also cook it on low for 6 or 7 hours.) Cook until the chicken juice is clear when you cut the chicken to the bone. Next, put your oven on broil and use foil to line either the broiler pan or a cookie sheet. Remove the chicken from the slow cooker using a slotted spoon and place the chicken on the pan with the skin side facing up. Broil until golden brown. This usually takes between 4 and 6 minutes. The chicken should be 6 inches away from the heat.

Mmm…we can already taste the Italian seasoning and juicy chicken now. We recommend serving this rich chicken dish with rice or couscous, but it also works well with one or two vegetable side dishes — nearly any veggie will complement it. Yum!
