Now here is a way to make someone feel special. And I promise you that whoever you are making this for will have nothing but smiles upon their face!
Get these things:
The Chicken Kiev Ingredients:
- 4 or 8 (1/2 of a chicken kiev per plate)
- Chicken Kiev Ingredients:
- 4 Chicken Breasts
- 2 eggs, beaten
- ¾ cup flour
- 1 ½ cups fine dry white bread crumbs
- Salt and Pepper to taste
The Kiev Butter:
-
8 Tbsp Butter, at room temperature
-
1 garlic clove, minced
-
1 tbs lemon juice
-
2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
-
½ tsp salt
-
½ tsp pepper
The Step By Step Directions To Follow:
Making Kiev Butter:
-
In medium bowl, mash or cream together 8 tablespoons of softened butter with 1 garlic clove minced, 1 tbs lemon juice, 2 Tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley, ½ tsp salt and ½ tsp pepper. Shape into a log ¾” thick, cover with plastic wrap and put in the freezer while working on everything else.
How to Make Chicken Kiev:
- Place one piece of butter in center of the breast.
- Fold two sides over the butter. Fold in the other end of the chicken breast and roll up the rest of the way.
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Heat 1” canola oil in a deep pot over med. heat until a piece of bread turns golden in 1 minute.
- Gently coat finished chicken in flour, dusting off the excess flour. Next, dip chicken in the egg and finally cover chicken with bread crumbs.
- Gently place chicken in the hot oil and fry until golden brown (about 4 min each side), then turn over. Wait to add each chicken Kiev to the oil; if you place in 2 at once; the oil will cool too quickly.
- Remove chicken to baking dish. Once all 4 pieces are done, bake approx. 18 to 20 minutes at 350°F. Then drain on paper towels for 10 minutes before serving.
Now you are ready to see those smiles. Just don't forget to add in your favorite side dish to make it a complete meal. I love to use steamed asparagus with a cheese sauce to make it perfection.
