The Next Time You Are Craving Chinese Take-Out Try Making This Mongolian Chicken Recipe Instead

The name Mongolian Chicken is a bit of a misnomer. It actually refers to the way in which it's prepared, which is similar to Mongolian barbecue. Hey, a rose by any other name, right?

Here Are The Ingredients To Gather:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast chopped bite size
  • campaignIcon
  • 1⁄4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1⁄2 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ cup low sodium chicken stock
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 4 scallions, chopped bite size on the bias

Once you have everything you need, you're a quick stir-fry away from chowing down on some homemade Chinese cuisine!

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. In a bowl, mix chicken pieces with cornstarch until all the pieces are evenly coated.
  2. In a pan over high heat, add oil and when the oil is hot, add chicken. Cook until chicken is cooked through (about 4 minutes).
  3. Add garlic and ginger and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add soy sauce, chicken stock and brown sugar and cook for 3-4 minutes, until sauce thickens.
  5. Turn the heat off, add sesame oil and scallions. Stir well and serve with white rice.

The side of rice will be more than enough, but I won't tell if you slip in some store bought crispy noodles! Enjoy!
