If you're looking for something fancy for dessert, but don't want to spend the amount of time in the kitchen that it takes to make something really fancy, make this recipe! The cherry crisp will satisfy your dessert craving in no time!
Things You Will Need:
-
1/3-1/2 cup Brown Sugar
-
1 tablespoon cornstarch
-
4 cups frozen unsweetened pitted tart red cherries
-
1 cup crumbled shortbread cookies
-
2 tablespoons butter, melted
-
1/4 cup chopped pecans or almonds, toasted
How To Prepare:
- To start making your cherry crisp, you'll need to combine sugar and cornstarch in a small bowl.
- Next, you'll want to grab a large sauce pan. In the pan, sprinkle your cornstarch mixture over frozen cherries. Over medium heat, continue stirring for the next ten minutes. Your mixture should be nice and bubbly, continue cooking and stirring for two more minutes from this point.
- Step away from the heat, and in a medium bowl you are going to combine crumbled cookies, butter and nuts. This will be the topping for your cherry mixture.
Finished!
Note: Recipe makes four servings. Divide your cherry deliciousness into four bowls and top with your nut mixture. Feel free to add a heaping scoop of vanilla ice cream to the mix.
