If you are in more of an indulgent mood, cheese is a great base for a dip! Cream cheese and cottage cheese make a good start and you can add other cheeses if you prefer a different taste. Add a bit of yogurt until desired consistency. Pick a vegetable to chop up and throw in, and season from there. Try these combos:

Cottage cheese + caramelized onion or chives + cheddar

Cream cheese + goat cheese + dill + finely chopped veggies

Cream cheese + bacon + chives

Tomato Based: Also known as salsa! Blend or chop tomatoes and add fresh onion, peppers and a bit of vinegar and oil.

These guidelines are meant to inspire you to create your own combinations, but you can always look up recipes online as well. I encourage you to experiment; you never know if what you come up with will be the next party hit!

Since all this talk about dips made me hungry, I thought I’d take my own advice and make some myself! I have not been to the store in a while, so I had limited ingredients to work with. I ended up with yogurt + lemon + cumin, which tasted delicious!
