There Are A Lot Ways You Can Cook Eggs But When You Make Huevos Ahogados It Just Tastes Better

This Mexican dish makes about four servings but if you want plenty left over for another great meal, you can double the ingredients. The chiles give that salsa a wonderful flavor with a spicy kick! It takes about fifty minutes to make but after you try that first bite, you and your family will fall in love with this dish!

The Ingredients To Gather:

  • 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons salt plus 2 teaspoons
  • 4 Roma tomatoes
  • 1 chile de árbol
  • 1 serrano chile
  • 1 jalapeno chile
  • 2 yellow chiles
  • 2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup of water
  • 4 eggs

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. Pour oil into pan over medium flame.
  2. Add onion, garlic.
  3. Brown onion, garlic on all sides. Remove, set in blender for later.
  4. Fill pot halfway with water. Set over medium ,add 2 tablespoons of salt. Cover. Boil.
  5. Add tomatoes, chile de arbol, all chiles, cover.
  6. Allow mixture to boil 30 minutes.
  7. Add tomatoes, chile de árbol (remove stems), 1 teaspoon black pepper, 2 teaspoons salt, other chiles, 1 cup of water chiles were boiled in to blender with onion, garlic . Blend.
  8. Pour mixture into pan over medium . Boil.
  9. Add eggs one at a time to salsa.
  10. Cover, simmer until egg whites are cooked, yolks are runny.
