Here's everything you need for these rich and spicy cheeseburger quesadillas. This recipe requires just thirty minutes total time and makes eight servings.
Let's Get Started…
Ingredients To Gather:
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 whole Medium Onion, Chopped
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- ¼ cups Ketchup
- ¼ cups Real Bacon Bits
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 2 teaspoons Onion Powder
- 2 whole Large Flour Tortillas
- 2 cups Grated Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- Vegetable Or Canola Oil For Brushing
- Red Crushed Pepper Flakes For Sprinkling
Directions To Follow:
- Start by heating the olive oil on medium high heat in a large skillet, and then adding the onions and cooking until they're translucent, which usually takes between 5 and 7 minutes. Then, add the beef, breaking it up with a spoon or a spatula, and cook the beef and the onions together until the meat is completely cooked, which usually takes about 10 minutes.
- Next, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and when the meat is cooked, add Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, bacon bits, salt and pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.
- Stir until it's completely blended, and then simmer on low for between 5 and 7 minutes.
- Next, arrange the tortillas on a large baking sheet, and spread half of the beef mixture evenly over one half of each of the tortillas.
- Top the tortillas with cheese and flip the other half of each tortilla so it's on top of the burger mixture. Coat the top of the tortillas with vegetable oil or canola oil, and then sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes on top.
- Next, bake until the tortillas are crispy and the cheese is bubbly, which usually takes between 10 and 15 minutes. When they're done, remove the pan from the oven and place on a rack and let the quesadillas cool for about 5 minutes.
- Then, cut them into triangles using a knife or a pizza cutter.
Finished!
These quesadillas taste like they came from a high-end Mexican restaurant, but they're really quite easy to make and you don't need to be an expert in Mexican food to make them to perfection. We like serving them with guacamole, sour cream and all the other sides that go so well with Mexican food.
Yum!
