
Alright! It's time to raid the fridge, the pantry or make a stop to the grocery store to get the ingredients you're going to need to get your munch on!
Ingredients
1 (8-ounce) container mini mozzarella cheese balls (bocconcini)
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups panko (Japanese breadcrumbs)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
1 tablespoon lemon zest
Pinch of red pepper flakes
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepperMarinara Cream Sauce1 cup red sauce
2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
Pinch of red pepper flakes
Now that you have what you need I'll guide you through the process…
- First, your going to want to preheat your deep fryer to 375 degrees F.
- Add your flour to a casserole dish, beat eggs and add them to a second dish.
- In a third dish whisk together your panko, parsley, lemon zest, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.
- Dredge your mozzarella through the flour first, then the egg and finally the breadcrumbs from your third dish.
- Put in freezer for 10 minutes then fry until golden.
Drain oil and season with salt and serve with marinara cream sauce which is made by mixing the red sauce, heavy cream and red pepper flakes together in a small bowl then microwaving for 2 minutes until warm.
