These Garlic, Marinara & Mozzarella Smothered Meatballs Will Liven Up Any Dish!

Here's everything you need for this saucy little dish. The recipe calls for a jar of marinara sauce, but note that you can make your own.

Ingredients To Gather:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork or mild italian sausage
  • 1 c breadcrumbs
  • 1 Tbsp italian seasoning
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 lb mozzarella, cut into cubes
  • olive oil
  • 1 jar(s) marinara sauce (or homemade sauce)

Directions To Follow

Begin by mixing everything except the olive oil, mozzarella and sauce in a bowl. Once it's combined, make 2-inch balls from it. Then, put a cheese square in each ball and press the meat around the cheese. Next, brown the meatballs in olive oil in a skillet. Remove them and set them on a plate. Finally, simmer the marinara sauce and then add the meatballs and simmer the entire mixture. Simmer about 30 minutes or until the meatballs are completely cooked.

So easy! We like this recipe because there are just so many ways you can incorporate these meatballs into a wide variety of dishes. You can go the traditional spaghetti and meatballs route, of course, but you can also use them for a zesty meatball sub or sandwich!
