Here's everything you need to make this sweet, savory chicken. Note that the ingredients for the flour mixture make two batches. You can just store the leftovers in the freezer in a zippered plastic bag.
Ingredients To Gather:
- 6 center loin pork chops, well trimmed
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 1½ tbsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground thyme
- 1 tsp ground sage
- 1 tbsp paprika
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 eggs
- 4 tbsp water
For The Honey Garlic Sauce:
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 – 4 cloves minced garlic
- 1 cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
Directions To Follow:
Begin by sifting together the flour, salt, black pepper, ground ginger, nutmeg, thyme, sage paprika and cayenne pepper. To make the honey garlic sauce, combine the olive oil and minced garlic in a saucepan and cook over medium heat. The garlic should be soft, but don't cook it so long that it begins to brown. Then, add the soy sauce, black pepper and honey, and simmer the entire mixture for between 5 and 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool until you're ready for it. Then:
- Make an egg wash by whisking together the eggs and water.
- Season the pork chops, then dip the meat in the flour and spice mixture. Dip the chop into the eggwash and then a final time into the flour and spice mix, pressing the mix into the meat to get good contact.
- Fry them gently for about 4 or 5 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
And that's it! All you need to do now is place the pork chops on a wire rack to drain. Once the pork chops have cooled, you can dip them in the garlic honey sauce. We recommend serving these pork chops over noodles or rice, and they're also yummy paired with a vegetable side dish.
