These Red Velvet Cream Cheese Brownies Are A Chocolate Lovers Dream Come True

These Red Velvet Cream Cheese Brownies Are A Chocolate Lovers Dream Come True

A bit more like cake than fudge, these brownies are sure to please all. The cream cheese makes them smooth and creamy.

Directions For The Brownies

•1 stick unsalted butter, softened
•1 cup sugar
•1 teaspoon vanilla extract
•1/4 cup cocoa powder
•1/4 teaspoon sea salt
•1 tablespoon red food coloring
•1 teaspoon vinegar
•2 eggs
•3/4 cup flour

The Cream Cheese Ingredients

•8 ounces cream cheese, softened
•1/4 cup sugar
•1 egg
•1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

The Step-By-Step Directions To Follow

1.Pre-heat oven: 350 degrees. Grease an 8 x 8 baking pan.
2. Melt butter (microwave 1 minute).
3. Mixer bowl: combine melted butter and sugar. Add: vanilla, cocoa powder, sea salt. Continue mixing.
4. Add: food coloring (red makes it “traditional” red velvet), vinegar, eggs, flour. Continue mixing: 3-5 minutes until all ingredients incorporated; the consistency is smooth. Reserve 1/4 cup of brownie mixture.
5. Pour remaining mixture into greased baking pan.
6. Mixing bowl: combine softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
7. Pour cream cheese mixture over brownies; smooth it out.
8. Reserved brownie mixture: Drop spoonfuls over top of brownies. Use a toothpick or skewer, make swirls with the brownie mixture and cream cheese.
9. Bake: 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean.
10.Allow brownies to cool completely before serving.

We love how we are always advised to allow the dessert to “cool completely” before serving. We’ve managed this on a few occasions but more time than not a piece is missing before it’s cooled and served to the family!
