These Sweet & Sour Meatballs With Teriyaki & Pineapple Are Delicious

Here's everything you need to make these savory meatballs. Panko is a Japanese-style breadcrumb. If you can't find it, check the Asian section at your supermarket.

You can also use regular breadcrumbs as well.

Let's Get Started…

Ingredients To Gather:

  • two pounds of ground beef
  • two eggs
  • 3/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • two cans chunk pineapple drained
  • a bottle of your favorite Teriyaki sauce
  • three 1/2 green onion finely diced
  • one Anaheim pepper finely diced — for just a little heat
  • three tablespoons Tamari or Soy sauce

Directions To Follow:

Start by mixing the beef, eggs, bread crumbs, onions, tamari or soy sauce, Anaheim pepper, and salt and pepper. Roll this mixture into several small meatballs and then lay on a baking sheet. Roast at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. Pour half of the bottle of Teriyaki sauce into a crock pot. Add the pineapple and beef and mix well. Make sure the entire mixture is coated with sauce — you may need to add more of the sauce.

And voila! You now have 60 flavorful meatballs you can serve on their own or add to dishes such as pasta. To add even more flavor, you can garnish them with spring onion. We like these meatballs because there's just so much you can do with them. We especially like them served over a plate of steaming hot white rice!
