These potato pancakes are so delicious. It will be hard to eat just one, so don't. Also, if you notice your cakes are way too wet when you're making them, you could just use a little more flour to balance out the wetness.
Let's Get Started…
Things You Will Need:
-
4 large potatoes
-
1 yellow onion
-
1 egg, beaten
-
2 tablespoons flour
-
2 cups vegetable oil for frying
-
salt and pepper to taste
How To Prepare:
- Start by prepping your potatoes. Finely grate with onion and make sure to remove any extra liquid by using paper towels.
- Now it's time to combine egg, salt and black pepper to your potato mixture. Incorporate flour to make your mix nice and thick. This should be about 4 tablespoons.
- You are actually going to be keeping these on very low heat in the oven after frying. Turn your oven up to about 200 degrees.
- Fry potato pancakes in a skillet over medium heat using your preferred type of oil. Once they've turned golden brown, transfer to a paper towel to remove any excess oil. From there, you'll transfer to a cookie sheet and keep them warm in the oven until you're ready to eat.
Finished!
Note: These pancakes can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Get creative with your toppings and really make these cakes your own. Some people love to top them with apple sauce while others prefer sour cream and green onions.
Happy Baking & Enjoy!
