This Chicken Comes Out So Tender & Has Such A Warm, Full Flavor! We Couldn’t Get Enough!

Here is that great tasting meal that you have been waiting for! And such a treat for the family because it's so flavorful!

The Ingredients To Gather:

  • 1/2 cup flour

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • 3 to 3 1/2 pounds chicken pieces

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) tomatoes

  • 2 bay leaves

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. Put the flour in with the salt and pepper then dredge the chicken in the mix. Save the excess for later.
  2. Heat the butter and oil in a pan over med/low heat. Brown the chicken pieces slowly til they are brown. Take the chicken out and put on a baking dish or an oven safe covered Dutch oven.
  3. In the same pan, brown the mushrooms and onions. Stir in the remaining flour mix. Add the tomatoes and bay leaves and blend well.
  4. Cook the tomato and mushroom mix for about 4 minutes then pour over chicken. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes, til chicken is tender.

To make it a full on meal with the bread, just add some nice fluffy biscuits or some warmed sweet dinner rolls and you are set and the family will be amazed! Enjoy!

It’s a baked recipe, so where’d the grill marks come from?

That’s what I wondered. There’s no way this picture goes with this recipe. And what kind of tomatoes is the recipe calling for? Diced? Whole? Stewed?

I have a grill pan that I use all the time on top of the stove or put it in the oven to get the grill marks!
