
This recipe makes enough for about nine servings but if you need more, you can just double the ingredients. It takes about thirty minutes to prepare and then another twenty to thirty minutes to bake. It will smell so heavenly, you'll be dying to taste it!

1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
¼ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
½ cup light brown sugar
¼ cup granulated sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup mashed ripe bananas

¼ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 9×9-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt.
Using an electric mixer, beat butter, both sugars, eggs, vanilla on medium speed until smooth, creamy, 2 – 3 minutes.
Reduce mixer speed to low, add one-third of flour mixture, mix briefly. Add half of mashed banana, mix again. Add half of remaining flour mixture, mix briefly, add rest of mashed banana, the remaining flour mixture. Use a rubber spatula to finish mixing. Do not overmix.
Spread batter in even layer, bake 20 -30 minutes. Place cake on wire rack to cool to slightly warm or room temperature.
Using an electric mixer, beat powdered sugar, butter, cream cheese, heavy cream, cocoa powder, salt on low speed until combined, increase speed to medium high, beat until light and fluffy, 1 – 2 minutes, stopping to scrape bowl once or twice.
Spread frosting over cake, serve.
