This Classic Meatloaf Recipe Features A Savory Glaze That Will Leave Everyone Speechless!

You can easily substitute the celery, mushrooms or the carrots for another vegetable but make sure you add that same amount required otherwise your loaf will not hold when it baked. Make sure to dice small and add extra garlic!

Let's Get Started Putting This Recipe Together…

Directions To Follow:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Place the carrot, celery, onion, red bell pepper, mushrooms, and garlic in a food processor, and pulse until very finely chopped, almost to a puree.
  3. Place the minced vegetables into a large mixing bowl, and mix in ground chuck, Worcestershire sauce, and egg.
  4. Add Italian herbs, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  5. Mix gently with a wooden spoon to incorporate vegetables and egg into the meat.
  6. Pour in bread crumbs.
  7. With your hand, gently mix in the crumbs with your fingertips just until combined.

Helpful Hints:

  1. Next, shape the meatloaf into a ball, and then pour olive oil into a baking dish and add the meatloaf ball. Form the ball into a loaf that's about 4 inches high and 6 inches across.
  2. Bake about 15 minutes or just until the meatloaf is hot. While you're waiting, combine the brown sugar, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and hot sauce in a small bowl and stir just until the brown sugar dissolves.
  3. Take the meatloaf out of the oven and spread the glaze on top of it and on the sides using the back of a spoon. Finally, bake at least 30 to 40 more minutes. You'll know it's done when it's not pink inside and when the glaze is baked onto the meat.
  4. To ensure it's done, insert a meat thermometer to check the inside temperature, which should be at least 160 degrees Fahrenheit.

Dinner Is Served….

Now that's what we call a meal! This meatloaf goes well with anything, from rich and creamy mashed potatoes to light and fresh vegetable side dishes. However you serve it, it's guaranteed to go fast.
